Funerals

We understand that planning a funeral can be both emotionally and physically draining. First and foremost, we want to be here for you in your loss, as shoulders to cry on, ears to listen, and as beacons of hope and support.

One of our ministers or pastoral assistants will be available to help you in planning a unique funeral service enabling you to say goodbye to your loved one in the way you know is best.

The first step is to find a funeral director, we can help you with that if help is needed. After that, we can help you choose readings and hymns, and printing service orders if needed, and we can advise on flower decorations if desired.

At St John the Baptist Church in Loxwood, we have an open graveyard where burials and the interment of ashes after a cremation is possible. There is also a Garden of Remembrance there where remembrance plaques can be displayed. The graveyard at St Nicholas Church Alfold is no longer in use, however there is an open crematory just a few minutes walk from the church where burials and interments of ashes are possible.

Our ministers are also available to take services at crematoriums, our most local is Guildford Crematorium, which is just outside Godalming.
