Giving & Finance

We no longer pass around collection plates mid service. So please don't think that by coming to church you'll awkwardly have to empty your pockets! We much prefer having you present at our services over your hard earned cash.

However, as Christians, we believe that all that we are, and everything we have is God's, and therefore we see giving as an expression of our love for Him. We want to be a church, which blesses our local community, and we know that bears a cost. There is no set amount one has to give to fulfil a duty. Instead, we encourage all our regulars to give prayerfully, sacrificially and joyfully. It's a response to the grace God shows us, as the Bible tells us, 'For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, so that you through his poverty might become rich.' (2 Corinthians 8:9).

If you would like to know how, as a parish, our income was spent last year, then please do request our APCM notes. If you'd like to begin contributing to the work of our parish then there are various ways you can do that, either through gift aided envelopes in church, via standing order, via the new Parish Giving Scheme, and through legacies. If you are a tax payer then please make sure that any financial gifts you give are Gift Aided. Charities like our parish are able to reclaim basic rate tax on all donations, which means that were you to give £100 through this scheme, we could claim back a further £25 from the Government, at no extra cost to you.

If you'd like to make an immediate one off gift to our parish right now, you can do that through PayPal by clicking here.

Direct gifts

As a parish our favoured method of giving is through the Parish Giving Scheme (see below), because regular giving helps us plan parish budgets. However, we know some do prefer to give directly, and all giving is enormously valued:

The Parish Giving Scheme

pgs

It's a regular form of giving via direct debit, taken monthly, quarterly or annually. Regular giving helps our treasurer enormously, and helps us as a parish budget for the year ahead. This scheme enables givers to keep inline with inflation, and it minimises the administration for our treasurer, without
incurring any extra costs. If you're interested in giving via
this scheme please click on the Parish Giving Scheme logo,
or contact our PGS rep Richard Badman.

Legacies

A gift in your will to our parish is a wonderful opportunity for you to keep on blessing your beloved community, and the future of the ministry of our church. Although legacies can be given as 'restricted funds' we advise all those considering including us in your will to think about legacies that are 'unrestricted'. This is because, we do not know what challenges lay ahead for our parish, and unrestricted funds provide more freedom to be able to respond more effectively when needed. Please look at churchofenglandlegacies for more information.
