Church Family News 05.10.25
Dear Friends,
What would ‘fullness’ in the Christian life feel like? And more importantly - how can it be achieved?
Lots of people might be able to give you an answer: religion, tradition, experience, rules. They are all places we might be tempted to look for the fuller life.
But Paul in our passage for Sunday wants us to know one thing. WE HAVE FULLNESS IN CHRIST ALREADY. Anywhere else we might be tempted to look is going to empty us, not fill us up. They are a shadow of the real thing, and not nearly as good.
We meet twice this coming Sunday morning in Loxwood Church. Looking together at Colossians 2:16-23…
8:30am - BCP Morning Prayer
10:00am - Family Communion Service with groups for the kids, and followed by refreshments.
And once in Alfold for Evensong
6pm - Evensong - Psalm 142
We’d love to see you there!
With love in Christ,
Revd. James Forward
N.b. Please note that Monday Morning’s prayer will happen in Alfold Church Room!

Vision Dinner
We had a fab time last Friday at our first ever Vision Dinner. We enjoyed delicious food, good fellowship, and time thinking about the future of our church and villages.
If you missed the evening, there is still a chance to catch up. The recording of the talk, and our new Vision Card can be found on the Our Vision page of our website.
Women’s Breakfast
Women's breakfasts take place every other month in Loxwood Church and everyone is welcome. It is a time to get together, enjoy a delicious continental breakfast with unlimited tea and coffee and listen to gifted speakers talk about a variety of different subjects.
The next breakfast will be on Saturday 18th October. 09:00-10:30am. We are welcoming Louise Davies who will be speaking to us about 'Journeying with The Waymaker'.
The cost is £7.00 per person. We accept cash or card payment on the door.

Andy Beattie’s Ordination

Prayer Central
Our 1st Wednesday of the month Prayer Meeting is coming up this week on Wednesday 5th November. We will meet in Loxwood Church Room. We meet at 7.30pm for refreshments, 8pm to sing and pray, and we always finish by 9pm. There is never an obligation to pray out loud. God hears the prayer of our hearts just as well! Please do join us.
Harvest Collection
With our Harvest Celebration coming up on Sunday 12th of October, our annual harvest collection is an opportunity to give thanks to God for all his provision, by donating food that will go to those who really need it. Donations can be left at the back of either church, and then will be taken over to Cranleigh Food Bank. If you're not sure what to donate, you can see requested items here www.cranleighfoodbank.org/donations and please make sure that all perishables will still be in date by the end of October.
Year of Prayer
Psalm 127 says ‘Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labour in vain.’ Monday Morning | Loxwood Church Room | 9am-Midday | Drop in Drop Out | Come and pray for God to build.
Please note - We will meet this week (6th October) in Alfold Church Room.
Discover
Have you ever taken the time to discover what Jesus actually said about himself? Come and join us in a relaxed setting as we take a closer look. We meet in the Onslow on Monday nights and look through a bit of John's Gospel (which is a biography of Jesus' life) together. No question is silly or off limits. Everyone is welcome. If this could be right for you or a friend you know, drop me an email at andy@alflox.org Every Monday Night. 7.30-9pm. The Onslow Arms.
