This Sunday 18th March is the rescheduled ‘Why does God allow mental ill health?’ service..
We will be speaking on this tough topic at both our services, Ele will be
sharing lessons of journeying through the long dark tunnel of postpartum
psychosis, and an ex-England rugby player will be sharing his testimony of
how he struggled with depression.
The 11 am will contain a shortened Holy Communion at the end of the service.
A quick reminder that being Harvest Sunday tomorrow (1st October) there is just one service at 11am in Alfold Village Hall.
Don't forget that our new service times begin this coming Sunday 3rd September 2017!!!
So, it's 9.30am at Loxwood for our All Age Service, and 11am at Alfold for our Traditional Holy Communion. (Plus as usual on the first Sunday of the month we have our 6.30pm Evensong at Alfold).***Reminder***
This coming Sunday (4th June 2017) there is no 4pm service - instead we are encouraging all to support the Thy Kingdom Come Pentecost beacon event at Guildford Cathedral - we have loads of free tickets so please let Rev Greg know if you'd like to join us there. This means that the 10am service will be Holy Communion.
This Friday (2nd June 2017) from midday we'll be joining a global wave of prayer by praying in our parish continuously for 24 hours. Please do contact Rev Greg for more info, and check out the Thy Kingdom Come video below:
Our summer 2017 Alpha course kicked off in May! We've had a great time together the last few weeks, and the good news is that you're still very welcome to join... Please contact the office for more info...
No Pilgrim on Wed 18th Jan - however, there will be Pilgrim on Thur 20th Jan 10.45am at Alfold Church Room - looking at 2 Samuel...
Here's a few dates for your diary:
On Thursday 24th November 8pm at The Sir Roger Tichbourne we have our next 'Eagle & Child' - a chance to have a pint together, and if you have any, to ask any questions about faith, Christ or the bigger things in life...
On Sunday 4th December 4pm at St. John the Baptist Loxwood we have our Christingle Service. Before the service from 3pm onwards children are invited to come and decorate the Church Christmas Tree!
On Wednesday 7th December meeting outside Loxwood North Hall from 6pm onwards a group of us will be singing carols around Loxwood. Please join us, and make sure you wear a woolly hat!
On Monday 12th December meeting at The Sir Roger Tichbourne from 6pm onwards a group of us will be singing carols around Alfold. Please join us, and make sure you wear some woolly gloves! Since Alfold is quite a long village we will be relying on a minibus service, therefore please let the Church Office know if you'd like to join in.
Are you ready for the journey?
Pilgrim groups start at 7.30pm on Tuesday 20th September, and as a church, over the next year and a bit we're going to read through the entire Bible...
Are you ready for the Launch?
The countdown has begun...
On the 18th September we launch our new
4pm Informal Church Service
It will take place weekly at our church building in Loxwood. It will be particularly child friendly, and so we definitely won't mind crying babies or embarrassed dads! We'll start with tea, squash and cake, sing some songs, say some prayers, and listen to some readings and a short talk.
For more information please contact Rev Greg.
Surrey Churches Ride & Stride - Sat 10th September
